The four cousins of the cousin-cousin-cousin-cousin birthday party are MIKE, AMBER, MICHAELA, and LOWELL. Below is a photo of the four of them from one of the early cousin-cousin-cousin-cousin birthday parties.
SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAYS
BOB, JENNIFER AND CAITLIN, WES, LOU, AND MARY, TOM – ANY TOM, PICK A TOM
All these folks have September birthdays. I can’t actually match all the people to dates but I believe September birthdates include the 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th. There’s a couple I’m fuzzy on but I’m guessing 6th or 7th and 21st. Regardless, the Hillmans don’t have to go many days in September without a birthday to celebrate.
PLAYED THE FLUTE
BEV, NANCY, MEGAN M, FOURTH
BEV played flute in various high school bands. MEGAN M and I (NANCY) had decidedly shorter flute-playing experiences. I stopped torturing the music teachers after middle school. The photos below are (in order, top to bottom) Bev (photo from a NKHS yearbook), Nancy, Megan M. Bob may have picked up the flute at some point as well but I can’t say this with absolute certainty, hence the use of a FOURTH for this puzzle grouping.
FIRST SWIM OF THE YEAR AT THE 461
RUSSELL (MAYBE), HAVEN, MEGAN M FOR A FEW YEARS, PIPER
I have no absolute, definitive way of knowing who was the first to make their way into the big hole in the ground full of water at The 461 but my guess it was one of the younger siblings. Below is a photo of RUSSELL in the earliest days of the pool. I know Karen and Norma can tell us the exact year the pool was installed. I can only narrow it down to the early 70s.
HAVEN was the first swimmer of the 2011 season on June 6.
MEGAN M had a “first swimmer” streak going FOR A FEW YEARS. The photo below is of her swim on May 28, 2017.
PIPER got the 2018 swim season off to a start when she jumped into the very green pool on June 10.

Sarah says she played the flute. I don’t think I knew that.
So I got September birthdays and CousinX4 birthday party right away. The other 2 by process of elimination.
Actually I don’t know exactly when the pool went in. I think I was in college so after 72.
First I can’t believe Piper jumped into that green water and second May 28 is pretty early! Was Megan the earliest ever?
Megan was most likely the earliest ever. She was all about getting in that pool ASAP for a few years there.
