PLAYED/PLAYS THE CLARINET
ELEANOR, NORMA, RUSSELL, AND CATHERINE ALL EITHER PLAY OR HAVE PLAYED THE CLARINET
While he isn’t carrying a clarinet here, below is a photo of Russell in his marching band uniform – either Davisville Middle or Davisville Junior High School (I’m not sure what the name of the school was at that time). Regardless, Russell most likely played the clarinet while in this band.

Molly also, in fact, played the clarinet, but she wasn’t included in the grouping because she’s in a different group (see below) for this puzzle. I do have pictures of Molly with a clarinet (and/or her cousin Eleanor) though, so she gets photo mention in this grouping. I have no picture of Norma. Did someone complain to the NK Library that someone was accessing old pictures of them? I can’t seem to get to the NKHS yearbooks anymore via the NK library website. And, although I associate Bob as a saxophone player, I’m sure he played the clarinet at some point. Apologies to Catherine, I imagine I have a better photo of you playing the clarinet somewhere.

BORN OUTSIDE NEW ENGLAND
MEGAN M, MOLLY, ESTHER, AND EMERSON WERE ALL BORN OUTSIDE OF NEW ENGLAND
Megan M. and Molly were both born at Putnam County (like the spelling bee) Hospital in New York. Esther was born in Arlington, New Jersey. I’m unsure if Emerson was born in New Jersey or New York but I am assuming that it was one of the two.

LEFT-HANDED FAMILY MEMBERS
Wednesday of this week (August 13) will be International Left-handers Day so I thought I’d include a grouping this week dedicated to the left-handed members of the family.
KAREN, JESSICA, MIKE, AND JENNIFER ARE ALL LEFT-HANDED

Is that everyone? I wonder if Tom is left-handed. Can anyone confirm/dispel this notion? Also, one of the four lefties above happens to share their birthday with International Left-handers Day, do you know which one?
BORN AT WOMEN AND INFANTS HOSPITAL
MALIA, BRIAN, MEGAN J, AND JAYCIE WERE ALL BORN AT WOMEN AND INFANTS HOSPITAL
Can you identify which of the individuals noted above appears in the image below?

I had originally hoped to have one puzzle with all four groups dedicated to attributes of birth…so, “born outside New England,” “born at Women and Infants,” would have been used and then maybe “born in month-X” – there’s a few months I could have chosen from but I couldn’t come up with a fourth grouping. I thought maybe “born via c-section,” but I couldn’t come up with 4 that I was certain of. I also thought about early/late with respect to due date but I don’t remember those details. Anyone have an idea of a fourth birth attribute grouping I could have used? It’s not going to show up in a puzzle down the road, I’m just curious.
Great puzzle. Didn’t get it had to go to the answers.
This was a great puzzle! I want to say I got it but if I had to go back in like a 100 times is that really getting it? And then stumbling on to answers accidentally?
I was looking babies in the same month. Alas not a category.
Actually I played the alto sax.
Once I got Born W+I then out of NE I was focused on where everyone was born.
Good job Nancy!
Norma, so you never played clarinet? I assumed you would have started with that.
If I had been able to access year books via the NK Library website – as I have in the past- I would have verified HS years at least.
We will need to ask Karen for verification but I think I started with the sax
That cracks me up
Norma to the best of my knowledge you never played clarinet.
Norma, did you play altogether clarinet in the high school? I thought you played something other than alto sax.
Sorry, damn auto correct alto clarinet
Very fun puzzle!!!! Of course I didn’t get it but it’s a fun one!
IDK what baby that is – my first thought was Meg but it looks more modern so one of her girls??? But which one??
Jaycie
My sweetie!!!!!
❤️
I was looking at second born children or first born children as a catagory. Also born here but no longer living here.
Those would have worked!
That’s what I was looking at Norm!
Stumbled into all my answers. Took multiply tries of getting in and out!
Only got the born at W&I because I put my family members together. Then kept trying to work the birth angle. Got out of state next. Of course after that I was trying to make a birth connection.
Forgot that Jennifer was a lefty. Did not know that Jessica was. Only know that Mike and I were lefties. Also grandpa. I was actually talking about this recently with someone while discussing that although I was left-handed, I golf right-handed (also swing a bat).
I did not realize you golf and bat rightie. I also didn’t realize grandpa was left-handed until you mentioned it recently.
I wonder if Tom is a lefty
He is
My group that would fit into these categories. I played the clarinet in middle school and was in the marching band. I am pretty sure that the clarinet I played was a hand me down from one of the Hillman’s. Rachel and Jake were both born at Women and Infants. Both were premature. Jake was so early spent a month in the intensive care nursery.
Tom – I have to say I really know/remember that you played clarinet. It does make sense that you had a hand-me-down one.
I’ll have to get your dad on digging up a slide for me.
I remember your two oldest being born at W&I and the premature arrivals.
