SOME FAVORITE VISUAL ARTISTS
KANDINSKY
HOPPER AND HARPER
NEEL AND MUNTER
HOCKNEY
Way back when I was a pre-teen probably, my brother Bob introduced me to the artwork of Vasily KANDINSKY. I’ve sought out Kandinsky paintings in museums for extended viewing sessions ever since. I really enjoy his command of shape and color.

Several of the siblings have taken in museum exhibitions featuring the artwork of Edward HOPPER, mulling over and questioning his intended themes: chosen solitude or loneliness? Hopper’s subject matter varies from seascapes, office and theater interiors, and main street and feature hallmark dramatic lighting. Charley HARPER is a graphic artist known for his vibrant compositions featuring all manner of wildlife done specifically for posters and other marketing products.

Alice NEEL and Gabriele MUNTER are personal favorites of mine. Neel is known for her portraiture while Munter primarily created landscapes or still lifes. One of Neel’s portraits can be seen at the RISD Museum and Munter’s Pink Still Life can be seen at the Harvard Art Museum.

If you had won the PowerBall jackpot this weekend, which artist’s artwork would you be be looking for Sotheby’s to be offering up?
THINGS USED TO MAKE 48 HOUR MOVIES
DAVINCI
KAREN & LOU
CELL PHONES
CREATIVITY
Technically, the editing software we use (most recently) when creating our 48 Hour movies is “DAVINCI Resolve” but we often refer to it simply as “DaVinci.” KAREN & LOU have appeared on-screen in more productions than any other team members. I don’t know that we’ve produced a movie without footage captured on CELL PHONES. Oddly, if we did, it was an early production when I borrowed camera equipment from Rhode Island School of Design. And, of course, the foundation of any of our movie endeavors is CREATIVITY!

ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH A PAPER ROUTE
DELIVERY
COLLECTING
ASSEMBLING
ANGRY DOG AVOIDANCE
This is not the first time we’ve visit the subject of paper routes in these puzzles so perhaps I haven’t tripped many of you up by including it again. By way of explanation for those that have not had a paper route, DELIVERY is the most obvious task associated with this job but weekly COLLECTING of payment from customers was sometimes more time consuming. Sunday papers (and sometimes Wednesday papers) arrived from the distributor in sections which required some ASSEMBLING and there was always the need to stay on your toes with regard to ANGRY DOG AVOIDANCE.
COMMENCEMENT SPEAKERS
CARPANO
PLIMPTON
NICK, RON, & PETE
FOURTH
The commencement speaker at the North Kingstown High School graduation ceremony of 1992 was Frank CARPANO. Author George PLIMPTON spoke at the graduation ceremony (again, NKHS) in 1978. The Cardi brothers, (NICK, RON, & PETE) spoke at the last graduation at the “old” high school in 2001. Can you guess which family members graduated in those classes?
I thought I had information on a fourth speaker but couldn’t pin the speaker to commencement vs awards or other special ceremonies.
Do you remember your commencement speaker? Do you remember anything they said? John Chafee spoke at my high school graduation but, no, I don’t remember a single thing he said.

Good one Nancy!
I did eventually get it but I had to back out many times! Try enough combinations you’ll get it right!
Very disappointed in how long it took me to get activities associated with delivering papers!
No idea who spoke at my graduation.
I meant to change COLLECTING and ASSEMBLING to noun forms (COLLECTION/ASSEMBLAGE) in hopes that people would try to put them with CREATIVITY (noun) BUT I guess I didn’t have to.
Hopper is still one of my favorites, but did enjoy the other art work. I am a fan of Charlie Harper.
Have no memory of the speaker at my graduation.
Also, if you like Charlie Harper, you may like Eli Halpin.
More whimsical animals.
